While these knives are very well balanced, they are very light because of the ceramic blade. Since the blade is so hard, it rarely goes dull. This was a dramatic discovery.  The knife has perfect balance and the finish is attractive, with the blade bonded to the handle to stop either of them separating from each other. This is a required method for improving the impact of the Yoshiblade ceramic knife. The selection of a good oyster shucking knife boils down to personal preference and common sense.
